She later progressed to a foreman role in the Civil Projects team, completing a Project Management Certificate and a Diploma in Engineering (Civil) along the way. Following a period as Divisional Manager in Dunedin, Laila returned from maternity leave in a flexible capacity as Senior Quality Advisor, continuing to support WCL’s projects and teams with her expertise.

What Laila enjoys most about WCL is the continuous opportunity for career growth and personal development, all within a team that feels like family.

Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, spending time outdoors, reading and playing card games. Her favourite saying: “There is no such thing as failure, only failure to try.”
