Based in Dunedin, Ian supervises teams across vegetation and civil projects, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently while supporting his crew’s development.
Originally from the UK with a background in forestry, Ian moved to New Zealand in 2007 to manage teams maintaining parks and trees in Christchurch.
After seven years as a Parks Officer in Central Otago and a stint as a Vegetation Control Officer in Dunedin working closely with WCL, Ian joined the company, bringing extensive practical experience and a hands-on approach to supervision.
What Ian enjoys most about WCL is being part of a small, motivated team that works well together, supported by strong management and a company culture with a genuine community feel.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys playing guitar, writing songs, and performing occasionally. He also likes golf — even if it occasionally frustrates him.
A fun fact: he came to New Zealand seeking the quiet life, but experienced a significant earthquake instead — welcome to NZ!
