Whitestone Contracting Limited is a Council controlled organisation formed early in 1991 being 100% owned by the Waitaki District Council. Whitestone Contracting Limited has been a success story, expanding from a three million dollar turnover in 1991 to the twenty million dollar turnover it enjoys today. Whitestone Contracting Limited is are controlled by five directors appointed by its shareholder the Waitaki District Council.

Staff

This success has resulted from the dedicated staff the company employs. Whitestone Contracting Limited and its divisions employ greater than 150 staff. The staff consists of engineers, plant and machinery operators, certified plumbers and drainlayers, carpenters, painters and decorators, mechanics, labourers and administration staff. Staffing levels are increased during the construction season utilizing casual and student labour.

Plant & Machinery

The company maintains a fleet of modern plant & equipment. The company has a wide variety of plant and has made a significant investment in plant this year to support and enhance future returns.

The company has associations with a large number of sub contractors in the industry and is therefore a one stop shop for all contracting requirements. Where possible the company uses local suppliers and supports the local community.
